A brief study on Mowlana Jalal ed-Din Muhammad Balkhi known as Rumi (XXI)

World Outlook of Rumi (Part 4)

Khoda Seeking: Aim of the Creation
Rumi does know only one aim for Creation and that is seeking Khodāvand Self Being/God:
“If you root out attachments from thy heart/If thou throw away your load to your house,
Pass so warm from the dusty things/Till to be a light for the those who come,
Do make peace with us here, need not/To be shameful of Us at the Day of Doom,
Thou can see the firmament at thy behind/By the light of love if you be enlivened,
All plants will pray for thou/If you be a generative fountain,
Do not fail in utilizing His blessing like dawn/Till to be all days laughing if thou doing so,
If you keep alive the nights like the star/You will have to shin face all the time.”

Then Rumi advises us to relinquish lusting and non-celestial attachments and instead with a pure heart live up to our inner with the light of love and seek a deserved and valuable aim i.e. knowing Khoda, the Self-Created Being, which is the sole valuable goal that deserves our utmost endeavor to know Him and be not happy with whatever is less than is it.
Therefore in the school of Rumi seeking God / Khoda is a precept, but meanwhile, he browbeat us that do not be mixed up and not seek Khoda any other place save the corner of your heart:
“Oh, those who have gone Hajj, where are you going?/Our beloved is just here do come near, do come near,
Your beloved is your door-to-door neighbor/Bewildered in that desert you do seek what?
If you see the faceless face of thy beloved/You are the very Hajji and Kaaba and House,
If you want to see the House of that Dear/You furbish the face of the mirror a prior,

If you did see the garden where is your flower?/If you are of the sea of God, show an essence?
With all of these your toll be your treasure/Tis a pity you are cover to your treasure.”

Or he says:
“Those who run by head in search of Kaaba,
When at last reached to their destination,
They went in the House to see their God,
Did search a lot though they saw naught,
Since they recluse that house by their oblige,
They heard suddenly an accost from an Angel,
Oh House worshipers why do adore mud and rock,
Go do praise that House that pure ones did seek;
The house of heart, House of God, the Absolute One,
Such happy heart is those who crept to that one.”
